Cayla Samano is a Michigan native, artist and designer. Her work includes an eclectic range of murals, logos, private commissions and book illustrations. She has been a working artist in the community since 2002.
In 2014 Cayla launched the creation of her own greeting card brand, Le Curious Rabbit. In 2017 she wrote and illustrated her first full length children’s book “How to Meet a Forest” for the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.
Her ongoing cartoon blog "The Misadventures of Bunpig" started in 2018, deals with the a pig-rabbit's quirky search for meaning and happiness in a contemporary world of insanity.
Cayla has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art (and half a masters in Illustration) and a teaching certification from Eastern Michigan University. She taught K-8th grade art for eight years, and now teaches illustration and drawing at the Ann Arbor Art Center. In addition to being an artist, Cayla is also the first certified Shinrin-Yoku style Forest Therapy Guide in Southeast Michigan, and the founder of A2 Shinrin-Yoku. Her artwork often reflects her love of nature.
